GONE TO THE DOGS
The animal shelter in Douglas County is about to get a much needed upgrade. Now, considering the shape the current "structure", and I use that term very loosely, is in, a hovel would even be considered an improvement.
Seriously, the county is going to fix up the shelter and add a 20 X 24 foot addition. More room for the animals right? Well, no. The new space will be used for an office area, additional storage, and.....drum roll please......a handicapped accesible restroom.
A handicapped bathroom for what? A three legged dog? The shelter will not increase it's capacity to handle more dogs and don't even mention the kitties because they still won't deal with that. But by God, there will be an office and a handicapped bathroom which is just what that stray dog and/or cat(ooops no cats allowed)needs!
They even hired two part-time animal control officers. I suppose if they were going to have an office and a toilet they would have to hire some people to use them. Unless they are going to teach Spot to type and sit on the loo reading the paper.
Our government, even at the local level, works in strange and mysterious ways?!
