The North Carolina Legislature has been debating a new ethics bill which includes stricter regulations on political contributions. This has to be one of the best quotes I have ever read from a legislator on any issue:

"Even the baby Jesus accepted gifts, and I don't think it corrupted him," said Rep. Drew Saunders, a Mecklenburg County Democrat.

Yes, but baby Jesus never ran for political office. Points to a Democrat with a sense of humor.
