Mental Ward(Churchill that is)

University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill (search), whose
hiring was based partly on his declarations of Native American
heritage, insists he is Native American, even though he doesn't claim
to have a single drop of Native American blood in him.

In a 50-page document sent to university officials yesterday,
Churchill says he meets three key criteria to being Native American:
First, he calls himself Native American. Second, others believe he's
Native American. And third, a tribe of Indians in Oklahoma has
awarded him an associate membership.

I suppose this is like everybody being Irish on St Patrick's Day? If you think it, you can be it! WHO KNEW! I did not know Native Americans played so fast and loose with their heritage? Let's peer into Mr C's wallet.....um, driver's license, library card, aclu membership card, grocery list for all natural food store, Sam's Club card(that is way in the back, supposed to be a secret), and a coupon for an associate membership in a Native American tribe. I suppose others also believe this guy is a professor too?

First, I think he is an a-hole. Second, others believe he is an a-hole. Finally, most members of the American tribe would certify his a-holishness. Therefore....well, you have figured that out. Wow and less than 50 pages! Another successful diagnosis by Dr Stock! Can I have tenure now?

Comments:
I'm an Irish by marriage!
Who knew they will have to have a new category made to check off for Asian-Irish one day for work/college applications! I'm off to a Renaissance Festival in a short while today. I know that the Irish had very little to do with Renaissance, but hey, a baby step at the time, right? I'm all about getting in touch with my European heritage by buying and wearing Renaissance jewerly, baby!!
